| 3-wkt win for Commerce College | | Inter-college cricket | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 18 Government SPMR College of Commerce today entered the second of ongoing inter-college cricket tournament beating Degree College Reasi by four wickets at University of Jammu grounds, here. In this low scoring game, batting first after winning the toss decided to bat, Reasi College bowled out for 140 runs in 28.2 overs of the 40 overs match. In reply, Commerce College attained the target in 24.4 overs for the loss of seven wickets. Bal Krishan was top scorer with 36 runs off mere 30 balls including a six and five boundaries. Manoj Dogra and Bhupinder Singh contributed 18 and 12 runs respectively. From Commerce College, Rohit Sharma clinched three wickets for 20 runs in 4.1 overs while Anil Raina took three and Nitish two. Batting second, Commerce College made a good start and achieved the target for the loss of seven wickets sparing 15.2 overs of their innings. Parteek played match winning innings of 41 runs. Chandeep and Anil Raina added 22 and 15 runs respectively. Suresh and Manoj Dogra took two wickets each for Degree College Reasi while Sanjay and Bhupinder shared a piece each. Parteek was later adjuged man of the match for his knock of 41 runs. He was presented the man of the match trophy by Prof R D Sharma, Rector Kathua Campus, University of Jammu. Today’s match was officiated by Naveen Sharma and Ranjay Sharma while Mohit Jamwal was scorer. Next match: PG Law and Science to meet Dogra Law College tomorrow. |
