| Ajmer police to visit Jammu to investigate blast | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 19 Ajmer police is likely to visit Jammu And Kashmir State in next couple of days in connection with investigation of a blast there. It has also asked Jammu police to send a team to Ajmer for joint investigation in the case. Sources said after the interrogation of a Rajouri based youth, Ajmer police has received certain clues and contacted senior officers of the Jammu and Kashmir police (JKP) requesting that they would like to visit J&K in two days in the connection of the case. Sources said, on the request of Ajmer police Jammu police has also collected records of certain people who were known to be working with the arrested person. Here it is to be mention that Ajmer police seized an old Maruti car (JKS/7873) which was mysteriously parked near the Sufi Shrine of Khwaja Mohiuddin Chisti on Octomber 11 after the bomb blast and arrested the owner of the car namely Gulam Nabi Shahban and his driver namely Surjit Singh who were running an NGO having office at Janipur here.. Reports said the NGO was running a number of centers in Rajouri district and Shahban has rented an accommodation in Thudi village in Rajouri and after his interrogation Ajmer police got many clues. When contacted, IGP Rajasthan Pankaj Kumar said that their investigation was on and after the investigations some more arrests were likely. He said we are investigating the matter and we can’t tell any thing at this point of time. Sources said Jammu and Kashmir police was sounded alert about the detention of Rajouri youth and seizure of the Maruti car and on the direction of senior police officers the Rajouri police started investigating the matter. Police also picked up some suspects who were known to be working with the Shahban and also raided some of his offices. |
