| Peerzada for practical use of IT in day to day life | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Oct 19 Minister for Science and Technology and Education Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed has said that scientific temper is present in all human beings whether literate of illiterate, science or non-science students. Mr. Sayeed was addressing at a seminar on "Role of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in E-governance organized by Intel India Limited yesterday here at SKICC. He said that learning through method of science, helps in reinforcing the scientific approach, stressing for cultivating scientific temper specifically through the dissemination of science at different levels. Mr. Sayeed hoped that deliberations of yesterday seminar will encourage people to make practical use of IT in day to day life in arriving at decisions concerning issues of concern to them and in handling situations arising out of age-old practices and conventional method which actually hinder progress. Principal Secretary General Administration Department, Mr. Khursheed A. Ganai while addressing the seminar stressed for adopting IT in all spheres of life and also for making it part of our official work and personal life. Mr. Ganai gave resume of IT in contemporary world and said though our state is far behind in IT but it is need of hour to introduce IT in all human activities, providing accessibility, connectivity and education to the masses. He said that knowledge is the most valuable resource but information is more valuable than knowledge. Director School Education Kashmir, Mr. Mohammad Rafi, Director School Education Jammu Mr. R. K. Raina, Director Colleges Dr. N. D. Wani, Director Archives Mr. Khursheed Ahmed, Additional Secretary Education, Mr. Showkat Ahmed and senior officers of engineering department.
