| Mangat says PDP playing vote bank politics | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Oct 19 Ruling out any troop cut in valley, senior congress leader Mangat Ram Sharma today said that security situation in valley is not feasible for same as infiltration is still on. He also lashed out at PDP, by criticizing that they are raising the slogan of demilitarization for pretty vote-bank politics. "Security situation in valley doesn't allow us to think of demilitarization, as infiltration across the border is still on," said Sharma while talking to media persons on the sidelines of the inaugural function of All India inter-university Baseball Tournament in Kashmir University campus. "Our coalition partner PDP is echoing the slogan of demilitarization for luring people to vote in their favour," he added. While asked about the recent statement made by PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's about the dismal functioning of coalition government, Sharma said that congress has always given their full cooperation to PDP, but added that PDP has not reciprocating the same. "If PDP want to move out of the coalition government, they are free to go. Nobody can stop them," he said. Stating that congress has always wished for smooth functioning of the coalition government in the state, Sharma said that PDP is willing otherwise. "It takes two to make a quarrel. So PDP has to cooperate fully for the smooth functioning of government," he said. Sharma also said that PDP's dismal attitude with coalition alliance has affected the functioning of government and said that people suffering unnecessarily. "If PDP have some otherwise decision, they should go on with that. Why they are letting people to suffer unnecessarily, for the pretty politics," he said. |
