| Medical camps held | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 19 As a part of ongoing military civic action programme, Army organized Medical camp at Marh under Operation Sadbhavana on 17 and 18 October 2007. The aim of the medical camp was to provide medical assistance to rural populace living in interior areas and facing difficulties in getting medical treatment. The team of doctors included Gynecologists, Pediatrician, Dentist, Surgical, Medical, Eye and ENT specialists from Army and civil Hospitals rendered their service at the camp. A total of 514 persons were treated medically during the camp.
Meanwhile, 48 Rashtriya Rifles under the aegis of Romeo Force also organised a Medical cum Veterinary Camp as part of Operation Sadbhavna at Government Primary School, Dhar Sakri (Darhal), district Rajouri, today. Special medical facilities were made available to the people from far flung villages who participated in the Camp. The camp was conducted by a joint team comprising Army and civil doctors, who treated the patients with common medical ailments. Service of child specialist, gynaecologist, ENT specialist, eye specialist and dentist were made available to the populace. About 650 patients of all age groups were examined and provided free treatment at the camp. Besides, immunization of children was also carried out under National Immunisation Programme. Lectures on Immunization, family planning, child health, hygiene and sanitation were also organised to create awareness amongst those who attended. Dalip Singh, the Sarpanch of Dhar Sakri was all praise for 48 Rashtriya Rifles for conducting a medical camp on such a large scale. The Chief Medical Officer, Rajouri, TR Gupta extended full cooperation to the Army by earmarking specialist doctors for the medical camp. People in general owed this overwhelming response to the positive attitude of the Army. |
