| HM militant, teacher among 3 killed in Kashmir | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Oct 19 Jammu and Kashmir police and security forces gunned down a Hizbul Mujahideen militant in Tangmarg area of at Tangmarg area of Baramulla district in North Kashmir, while unidentified gunmen shot dead a contractor in Awantipora area. Sources told reporter that a HM militant, identified as Irshad Ahmed Dar alias Tawseef son of Habibullah Dar of Beerwah was killed in an encounter with security forces in Tangmarg, early this morning. Giving details official 52 RR camp and police during a search operation was fired by a militant, who was hiding in paddy fields between Rawanpora and Chek-i-Churat Ram villages, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kunzar. The fire was returned and the militant was shot dead in the ensuing fierce encounter. One AK 47 rifle, two AK magazines, one Mobile, one Pouch and Indian Currency worth Rs. 520 were recovered from his possession. Meanwhile, unidentified militants shot dead one contractor identified as Ghulam Nabi Khanday, age 46, son of Mohammad Shaban, resident of Khandaypora Panzgam at Khandaypora, Awantipora. Police said that it has registered a case of murder and was investigating the case. Police sources told sources that unidentified gunmen, believed to be militants, shot at a teacher in frontier district of Kupwara in north Kashmir on Friday afternoon, resulting in his on the spot death. Identified as Abdul Rasheed Bhat son of Ghulam Muhammad of Rawatpora, Kralpora the teacher was shot dead by the suspected militants in Marchari forests this afternoon, they added. |
