| J&K women lose one-dayer to HP | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Oct 19 After holding the hosts, Himachal Pradesh to a draw in the rain interrupted two-day test game, Jammu and Kashmir women lost their limited overs game by two wickets. According to the reports reaching here, J&K women batting first lost all their wickets for 83 runs in the 50 overs a side game. In reply, Himachal chased the total for the loss of eight wickets. In the two-day game, J&K scored 94 runs in the first innings. Batting second, Himachal took a lead of 45 runs. Poised for a draw, the game was interrupted by the rains when J&K were playing at 100 for four on the second and last day of the match. There were two recognized innings from Payal, who made unbeaten 54 and six wickets haul by Meenu. Meenu also contributed runs in both the innings. Meanwhile, the team heading for Srinagar to play against Delhi, has already reached the venue after a day’s halt at Jammu. Talking to Early Times Reporter, the J&K skipper, Rupali Slathia said that the team has learned from the mistakes and are now confident enough to take on Delhi. “We are already short of options, but one or two changes to strengthen the batting cannot be ruled out in the game against Delhi on October 21,” said Rupali. |
