| Army Commander visits YOL Cant | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | October 20 Lieutenant General Daljeet Singh, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command visited Yol Cantonment on two days visit, today. As a part of continued efforts of meaningfully address welfare issues of serving soldiers, Army Commander inaugurated 39 married accommodations of Junior Commissioned Officers and 124 married accommodations for Other Ranks having improved scales of accommodation, superior specifications and number of value additions. Both the residential complexes have also been dedicated to war decorated soldiers by naming them after Major Sandeep Sankla, Ashok Chakra and Rifleman Sanjay Kumar, Param Veer Chakra. The project has been sanctioned by the Central Government to improve the satisfaction level of availability of married accommodation to Junior Commissioned Officers and Other Ranks in the station. Army Commander also inaugurated a Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Polyclinic to cater to the medical needs of ex-servicemen of Kangra District. Now approximate 40,000 ex-servicemen and their dependents can avail of dental treatment, x-ray facilities routine medical advice and medicines under one roof. |
