| Kashmir is incomplete without KP’s: Farooq | | After 18 years Mahanawami celebrated in Valley | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Oct 20 Mahanawami, a festival of triumph of good over evil, was celebrated with much fervor and gaiety in valley today. Large number of Kashmiri pandits thronged various temples here to pay their obeisance to Lord Ram. In Ram Mandir, Barbarshah here, a large number of devotees visited the shrine for full day. Among devotees, NC patron Dr Farooq Abdullah was also present. Speaking to a gathering of Pandits in the temple, Farooq termed Pandits an integral part of Kashmir and said that Kashmir is incomplete without them. "From ages Kashmir has kept the pot of mutual brotherhood between Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims boiling and every community has played its role in maintaining the amenity," he said. Stating the Pandits are ready to return back to valley, Farooq said that the displaced members of minority committee are waiting anxiously for situation to improve here. He criticized the incumbent government of neglecting the temples in valley and said that during his tenure as chief minister of state he has sanctioned one crore rupees for the renovation and maintenance of temples in valley. |
