Talwara migrants hold protest
10/20/2007 8:59:10 PM
Early Times Reporter
Jammu | Oct 20
Nearly 500 Talwara migrants, mostly women and children gave a befitting surprise to the police and the administration by appearing suddenly at Mubarak Mandi with flags and banners demanding implementation of the Supreme Court order to provide relief to the Jammu migrants.
On their arrival at Mubarak Mandi, they were received by senior leaders of JKNPP Anita Thakur and PK Ganju. HC Jalmeria state secretary of JKNPP arrived on crutches to receive the migrants.
The migrants condemned the Relief Commissioner, Vinod Kaul as a puppet of the Congres government who has filed a misleading affidavit in the Supreme Court saying that there were only three genuine migrants out of 1965. The migrants burnt the effigy of the chief minister and the Relief Commissioner.
