After holding trials yesterday, the Department of Physical Education, University of Jammu today finalized the 12-member men’s kabaddi team for all India inter-University men’s kabaddi tournament scheduled to be held at Awadh University from October 24.
The selected team include Sushan Gupta, Supreet Singh, Sarfraz Choudhary, Talab Hussain, Vitin Sharma, Jaydev Singh, Sunil Kumar, Randev Singh, Ajay Kumar, Amardeep Singh, Sunny Kumar and Gulzar Ahmed. Gagan Kumar has been named coach of the team.
The committee that conducted the trials was comprised of V K Magotra, H S Chib, Sudershan Goel and Anchal Singh as also Kabaddi coach, Ajay Sharma and Gagan Kumar.
It may be recalled that the event has been pre-poned by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) resulting into the JU left with no other option but to conduct the trials and send the team for participation. |
