| Jammu industry endorses Kashmir federation decision to boycott expo | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 20 The decision of Kashmir’s Federation of Chamber and Industries to boycott participation of the industrial exhibition being held at Srinagar from Oct 25 has been endorsed by the Federation of Industries, Jammu (FIJ). Decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of the members of the Jammu federation held under the chairmanship of Rajesh Jain here today. Addressing the members, Jain said that the govt has not withdrawn the power hike announced by the State Regulatory Electricity Commission despite repeated requests and assurances. He said power hike which is abnormal, unbearable and unaffordable hampers the growth of the industries. “On the one hand the policies and schemes of the govt. on Industrial Development has not been implemented and on the other side incentives under the Industrial Policy have been gradually withdrawn. With the unprecedented power hike the Industrial units may be forced to close down in the coming months,” he said and added therefore, it is futile to take part in such exhibitions. Among others meeting was attended by Kuldeep Dogra, Anil Suri, Romesh Badial Tejwant Singh Reen and Anil Gupta. |
