| BJP dares PDP to quit coalition | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu|Oct22 The PDP should either extend full support to the state government or quit it forthwith to create congenial atmosphere in the state. It simply cannot subvert the principle of collective responsibility and go beyond the confines of parliamentary form of government by sharing power and criticizing its own government simultaneously. The unending feud between the Congress and PDP has not only created political instability in the already disturbed Jammu and Kashmir state but also led to the collapse of the whole administrative machinery, thus adding to the woes of the people of the state. The only course left for these parties is to ask the Governor to dissolve the assembly and go in for mid term poll at the earliest. BJP State President Ashok Khajuria said this while reacting to the reports that the PDP is not happy with the performance of the state government of which it is a part. He said how could the PDP, which is on the verge of a vertical split, denounce the state government overlooking the fact that it itself is controlling almost all the vital portfolios. The PDP, like the Congress, is equally responsible for the prevailing state of affairs in Jammu and Kashmir and could be accused of indulging in politics of deceit, double-speak and emotional blackmail to strengthen its communal constituency in Kashmir. Ashok Khajuria said the state cannot afford to have a government consisting of warring factions as the militants and pro-Pakistan elements are already there in strength in the state to vitiate the political and social atmosphere in the state. Ashok Khajuria also urged the people to take note of irresponsible behaviour of the Congress and PDP and ensure that elections to the assembly are held immediately and administrative machinery put on the rails.
