| Charak inspects on going works in Jammu | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 22 Minister for R&B Gulchain Singh Charak today inspected ongoing work on 140 metre vented causeway at Bandrali on Chamnay Chak road in Vijaypur about 22 kilometre from here this morning. The vented causeway would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 2 crore by R&B department. Executive Engineer, R&B S. P. Manhas and other senior engineers of R&B, PHE and PDD accompanied the minister. Interacting with locals, Charak said that on the completion of 140 metre vented causeway, about 50,000 population of Chamnay Chak, Nandpur, Kadara Chak, Majua and its adjoining villages would be benefited. He said that the engineers of R&B department are playing vital role to complete the ongoing development works within stipulated time frame. He asked the engineers to remain present at their respective areas and personally monitor the quality of material. He said that the state government is fully aware with the problems of the people and is making concerted efforts to connect every nook and corner particularly far off areas with nearest urban centers . For this purpose, sufficient funds are being provided under R&B sector so that the improvement and maintenance work of dilapidated roads, bridges and buildings would be completed within stipulated time. Later, the Minister visited Government Indira Gandhi Dental College to inspect the construction work of academic block, boys and girls’ hostels, Principal’s residence, Professor’s quarters, guesthouse and lecturers/readers quarters (two block). The project would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 14.66 lakh by JKPCC over a land area measuring 23 kanals. Charak also inspected the construction work of Government Stationary and Supplies office building near Church, Karan Nagar and asked the engineers to complete it before December so that the employees of the department do not face any inconvenience. |
