In continuous drive to protect consumer interest and safeguard the rights of consumers, a team of officers of Legal Metrology Kathua in Department Lab fitted van headed by Assistant Controller’s Mr M A Mughal conducted extensive checking at Dayalachack, Gujroo Agrota, Gurha Kalyal, Lehar Bhag, Ujjpul Ladera, Mandli, Dendhi Sumbli, Phinter, Billawar, Sukerala Mata, Mahanpur, Danore during the courses of inspection one hundred twenty nine establishments dealing with different traders like flour mills, halwaies, karyana, golgsmith, atta chakki, vegetable seller, general store government sale depots were checked and twenty one defaulters were booked for selling packed items without declaration of MRP Pkd, less delivery of petroleum product use of un-reverified weight and measures and an amount of Rs.17000 was recovered from them department has appealed to the consumers to purchase goods on verified and calibrated weights and measures and purchase only those standard packages whose net weight, MRP Pkd and address of the packer/manufactures are mentioned.
Halwaies of the district were also directed to deliver the exact quantity of sweets as demanded by the consumers on the forthcoming festivals. |
