| BSP seeks judicial probe in education department | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 22 The Bahujan Samaj Party today held a meeting under the chairmanship of its state general secretary Raj Kumar in which the alleged illegalities, irregularities and nepotism in the higher education department was discussed. The members present in the meeting took a serious note on the Education Department as well as University of Jammu for granting affiliations/recognition to the B.Ed/ETT colleges by deliberately violating the laws and statutory provisions to benefit some politicians and their protégés serving already in the Govt. Departments. Addressing the members present in the meeting Raj Kumar said that is very shameful on the part of the Azad Govt. that on one side they are claiming the transparent administration and a revolutionary work culture but the ground reality and the naked truth of the day is that the Chief Minister own department of Higher Education has become den of the corruption, criminal nexus and malpractices. He further said that few days back one Sher-E-Kashmir College of Education and Sher-E-Punjab ETT institute has given by over sighting all rule and regulations and violating the statutory provisions SRO 339, (the soul act to establish and run a private educational institute). In which there are only three trustees of same families inspite of required five in SRO whom which two are Govt. Employees (one is Chairperson of ETT and A.E in Irrigation Department, and second is the Chairperson of above said B.Ed College and Teacher in Govt. Middle School), in which two institutes are run under one roof with same staff and infrastructure in 3½ Kanal of land inspite of 18 kanals of requirement in the Act compromising the quality of Education and future of students. Demanding immediately screening of all such institutes he demands an inquiry by sitting High Court Judge to probe all these malpractices and violations of statutory laws and provisions due to criminal nexus of High Corruption between private institute, university of Jammu and election department. He said that very sonly a delegation comprising the senior members of the party will meet the Chief Minister and apprise him the real picture with relevant proofs sot that such malpractices would not flourish in future. Among others who were prominent in the meeting were Dewakar, Mamta Sharma, Girdari Lal, Parveen Singh, Vandana Kumari and others. |
