| Sprawling Buds donates Rs 10,000 for adventure sports | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 22 Contributing its bit to ameliorate dismal sports scenario in the state, an educational institution has come forward donating Rs 10,000 to Tawi Trekkers Jammu and Kashmir for adventure and related activities. Besides this, Sprawling Buds, the kindergarten of Sun Rise School at Chinore near Bantalab has plans up its sleeves to set-up a small 16 ft height artificial climbing wall at its premises so as to inculcate a sense of sports among the students right from the beginning. “Today’s child is a busy student and to give them a genuine break, we at the Sun Rise School have made it a policy to make sports an important part of the education,” said Principal of the school, Pooja Sharma while interacting with the office bearers of the Tawi Trekkers. She said that since the school has a lot of space for different games and sports, the management has also decided to raise a full national standard climbing wall in the near future. The cheque was received by the Tawi Trekkers president, Sumant Singh from Principal. Among others present were Ram Khajuria, general secretary Tawi Trekkers, Ramesh Khajuria, Rahul Sharma (both Directors), vice-principal of the School, Aarti Sharma and Sumit Khajuria, member Tawi Trekkers. Meanwhile, the Tawi Trekkers were complimented by the school management for completing 25 years of existence. It is pertinent to mention here that Tawi Trekkers celebrates its Silver Jubilee on December two. “We have planned to hold week-long activities including climbing, short trekking, a trip to mini zoo and Wildlife Park at Mansar and other related activities to mark the Silver Jubilee celebrations,” said general secretary of Tawi Trekkers, Ram Khajuria. |
