| MIET students’ protest continue | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 22 For the third consecutive day a massive protest was held by the students of Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) under the banner of JSSM and supported by Praja Parishad. The protest was against the recent decision of state government to grant scholarship to the minorities. The protest was led by Rajan Anand (JSSM) and Sunil Sharma (Praja Parishad). Speaking on the occasion Atul Singh Jamwal and Sandeep Chowdhary urged state government to give scholarship to the students belonging to the below poverty line and not to the students on the basis of communities. The students leaders furthers threatened the state govt. and social welfare deptt. To take this issue seriously and gives scholarship of students belonging to poverty line. They threatened govt. to take necessary steps in this case are face more severe consequences. There was total boycott of classes in t he MIET college. Sensing the gravity of the issue the students of MBBS college and Sanskrit University Kot Bhalwal also supported the protest and assured a massive agitation from tomorrow at other colleges at Jammu. They also said all colleges will remain of till fruitful decision on the issue is out. Other present on the protest Varun Sharma, Ankush Chandan, Gagan Preet Singh, Harmeet Singh, Amit Verma, Aseem Gupta and Ankush Sharma. |
