| CM inaugurates CID building | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Oct 23 Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad inaugurated the spacious CID Headquarters building complex here today. The 4-storey building spreading over 38,000 square feet area has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 5 crore in a record time of 13 months by executing work in triple-shift. The Jammu and Kashmir Police Housing Corporation executed the work. In addition to the CID Headquarters, the offices of SSP (SBK), Foreigners' Registration Section and Surveillance Section have also been housed in the newly constructed building. The Chief Minister went round various floors of the building and appreciated the quality of work. The building comprises 112 rooms, one mini-conference hall, EPAX Exchange, computer section, record rooms, library, space for lift and 13 pantries. Interacting with Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda and other senior police officers after the inauguration, the Chief Minister appreciated the job done by Police Housing Corporation by constructing the building in a record time. The Chief Minister also had video-conference with IG Jammu. The facility has been put in place in the new complex. Prominent among those present on the occasion were Minister of State for Industries and Commerce, Dr. Ramesh Chander Sharma, Vigilance Commissioner, Dr. Ashok Bhan, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Mehboob Iqbal, IG, CID, K. Rajendra, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, S. M. Sahai and other senior police officers. |
