| 100 villagers injured in fire in Doda | | | Early Times Reporter Doda | Oct 23 About 100 villagers were injured when a massive fire swept through a remote village in Kishtwar district gutting 160 hutments, police said today. The fire, which broke out in Margie village of Warwan area last night, gutted 160 mud and wooden structures. About 100 villagers sustained injuries while trying to extinguish the fire as there was no fire fighting mechanism in the remote village, they said, adding choppers are being arranged to shift the injured to hospitals either at Anantnag or Kishtwar. Authorities have alerted an army post, about 20 kms from the village, to rush to the area and provide rescue and relief. |
