| IAF Commanders’ conference begins | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct23 The Indian Air Force Commanders Conference began today at Air Headquarters (Vayu Bhawan), New Delhi. The week long commanders’ conference commenced with the inaugural address of the Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal FH Major. Addressing the commanders in his inaugural address the Chief of Air Staff said “we must continue to adapt and evolve our operational orientations, strategies and capabilities to match the increasing demands of vital national interests, the widening spectrum of conflict and keep ahead of growing military capabilities within the Region“. The Conference is attended by the top brass of the Indian Air Force comprising Air Officers Commanding-in-Chief of IAF commands and Principle Staff officers of Air HQ. During the commanders’ conference, operational challenges before the IAF are discussed. Apart from this flight safety, maintenance, administrative and logistical issues are also taken up for discussions. During the present commanders conference the Air Officers Commanding-in-Chief of IAF commands would carry out a data based review. The Director General (Inspection and Safety) would also be presenting the data based review on flight safety. Discussions on Information warfare, placements of ex-air warriors and operational perspective on Garud force is also on the cards. The IAF Commanders would also be attending the Combined Commanders’ Conference on 24 October 2007 before concluding on 26 October 2007. |
