| 32nd Industrial Expo from Nov 14 | | Director discusses arrangements | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 23 To review the arrangements made for 32nd Industrial and Handicrafts Exhibition at Exhibition Ground Jammu, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Director Industries and Commerce, Mr Pradeep Gupta here, today. During the meeting, it was informed that Chief Minister Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad who is also Minister I/C Industries and Commerce has approved for holding of 32nd Industrial and Handicrafts Exhibition at Jammu for 21 days from 14th November to 5th December, 2007 and will also inaugurate the exhibition on November 14, 2007. The meeting discussed in detail the arrangements made by PHE, PDD. JMC, Health, Fire Services, Handicrafts, SICOP, Hospitality and Protocol and other concerned departments. Mr Gupta informed that PHE authorities would ensure proper drinking supply while PDD department will make all necessary arrangements for ensuring uninterrupted power supply during the Exhibition. Besides JMC authorities have also been asked to provide mobile water tankers for visitors and sanitation arrangements at the venue. JMC will also provide parking for vehicles of the visitors at the exhibition, the Director added. Regarding entry fee it was apprised that Rs 5 will be charged from Adults while Rs 2 from children up to 12 years. Director Industries said that stalls would be given on rent to private parties to set up restaurants serving food and snacks, tea/coffee etc. He said the Exhibition committee would decide the rent to be charged for stalls allotted to private persons and added that necessary repairs in the exhibition complex will be undertaken by the SICOP wherever required. Amusements like Magic show, Tora Tora Jhoola, Break Dance Jhoola, Columbus Jhoola, Mini Train with Jeep, Micky Mouse, Laughing Gallery, Gun Shooting, Donkey Show, Gaint Wheel, Tambola, Aeroplane Jhoola, Mini Circus and Cross Jhoola would be the other attractions during the Exhibition. Cultural and musical programmes will be organized during the exhibition, while special programmes will be organized on the inaugural and concluding functions, Director said. He asked the industrialists to sponsor the cultural events to be performed during evenings. He said these programmes will be organized by the State Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, State Information Department and industrial Units who have been sponsoring these programmes in the past. Revealing the exhibition schedule, Mr Gupta said that it would be opened for general public from 4.30 pm to 9.30 pm. Among others, Additional DC, Mr Hement Sharma, President Chamber and Commerce, Joint Director Information, Mr S.K Sharma, Joint Director Handicraft, Joint Director Industries, President Chamber of Commerce and Industries Mr Ram Sahai, General Manager SIDCO, General Manager, DIC, President Industrial Associations of Bari-Brahmna, Gangyal, Digaina, Birpur, senior officers of police and other departments were also present in the meeting. |
