| BCFI constitute new central executive body | | | early times reporter JAMMU | August 20
The Central executive members of the Backward Classes Federation of India (BCFI) today submitted their resignations following completion of their tenure. At the General House meeting of the Federation which met here today at Rani Talab Digiana elected a new body with Nek Ram Sharma as its President. The newly elected body will have 11 Vice Presidents for different areas including one each for Women's Wing and Youth wing. In addition the general body also elected two Joint Secretaries, one office Secretary, two Organizing Secretaries, Press Information Secretary and the Treasurer. H L Verma has been elected as spokesman of the Federation. All the elected office bearers took oath to the constitution of the Federation and pledged to work for the cause of the community. Later, addressing the media persons, the Spokesman vouched that the Federation is determined to achieve its basic target of 27 per cent reservation in favour of OBCs in the state and fight for the social justice and other objectives. He said due representation has been given to the members of other Backward classes in the newly constituted body.
