| Rajouri holds Poonch draw in U-17 football | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 23 District Rajouri today held Poonch to a 2-2 draw in their opening league match in the two-day inter-district Divisional level under-17 boys football tournament which went underway today at MA Stadium, here. Sumit and Bukesh contributed one goal each for Rajouri while Ishfaq and Nadeem were the scorers from Poonch. Only three teams arrive at the venue today for the competitions while the organizers are still expecting the fourth (district Samba) to turn up tomorrow. In tomorrow’s two remaining league matches, in case Samba fails to turn up, Poonch will be playing against Jammu and then Rajouri to take on Jammu in the second match. It will be on the basis of points earned in the league round that the winner of Jammu Division to be decided by the organizers, the Department of Youth Services and Sports. Today’s matches were officiated by Bharat Bhushan, Ajay Kumar and Kartar Dogra of the department Earlier, the tournament was declared open by the Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, S A Wani. He was introduced with both the teams playing the opening match by the organizing secretary, Dr Swarn Singh. |
