MAM play as a unit to beat Trikuta College by 87 runs

Government MAM College today played as a cohesive unit to register comprehensive 87 runs victory over Trikuta Degree College in the ongoing inter-college cricket tournament at University grounds, here.
It was team effort that first guided MAM to a big total of 288 runs for 8 in 40 overs and later restricted Trikuta College to a total of 201 runs in 37 overs thereby making it a big win.
Aditya played sensible innings of 40 runs by keeping the one end intact whereas on the other side of the wicket, Abhimanyu (38off 23 ball, 5x4), Farooq (25 off 13 balls, 2x4, 1x6) and Ankit (26 off 14 balls, 3x4, 1x6) played quick fire innings to accelerate the run rate. In the middle, Divya Pratap and Onkar did a fine job contributing 38 and 37 runs respectively.
From Trikuta College, Shajad Ali and Ashish took two wickets each while Dheeraj and Gautam shared a piece each.
In reply, Trikuta College put in best of their efforts to bring in some interest in the game knowing that the victory was difficult. Some good knocks from Vishav Pratap (30 off 27 balls, 5x4) and Dheeraj (30 off 32 balls, 3x4) created difficulties for the MAM bowlers but a fine spell by Mukesh, who took four wickets halted the Trikuta College at 201 runs in 37 overs.
Rahul Dogra and Shajad Ali added valuable 28 and 27 (off 15 balls, 2x6, 3x4) runs respectively. From MAM College, Mukesh bagged four wickets for 31 runs in seven overs, followed by Divya Pratap and Aminder who took two each.
For his all round performance, Divya Pratap was declared man of the match. He was presented the trophy by Director Academic Staff College University of Kashmir, Prof Mehrajudin.
Today’s match was officiated by Ranjay Sharma and Mohit Jamwal while Vikrant Singh was scorer. Next match: Government SPMR College of Commerce to take on PG Law and Science tomorrow.
