| Various Sikh orgs condole demise of Kehar Singh | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 23 The sad and untimely demise of Sardar Kehar Singh, sitting member of district Gurdwara, Parbandak committee, Jammu and senior Vice president of Shiromani Akali Dal has been widely condoled by Various sikh organizations of the J&K state. President, Shiromani Akali Dal J&K, Gurbachan Singh Dutta while addressing condolence meeting paid rich tributes to Kher Singh and recalled his services for the cause of sikh community and said community has lost a strong pillar, and his death is a irreparable loss. Member in the meeting observed two minutes silence in memory of departed soul. Bhai Kanahiya Jee Nishkam Seva Society members in condolence meeting chaired by Sudershan Singh Wazir, expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Kehar Singh. They described him a extremely honest person who always worked for the upliftment of downtrodden people of the society Wazir said his demise is a great set back to the sikh community. He was a true sepoy of dera Nangali Sahib. All the members present in the meeting paid their condolences and prayed to Almighty to grant peace to departed soul. Shiromani Akali Dal (A) headed by S. Simranjit Singh Ji Mann, condoles the sad demise of S. Kehar Singh. The departed soul was specimen of a sober gentle devout Sikh stalwart and was the younger brother of late S. Basant Singh Ji ‘Sabar’ who remained in the Panthik “limelight” for over three decades as dedicated leader of state Akali Dal. While praying tributes J.S. Mangal Said, Kehar Singh actively participated in the movement for attainment of Punjabi Suba on linguistic basis and was jailed for a number of times. |
