| SWAMI AMRITANAND ACCUSES PDP OF SABOTAGING AMARNATH YATRA, RAISES QUESTION MARKS OVER APPOINTMENT OF JUSTICE (RETD) KK GUPTA | | | Jammu, July 02 : The raging controversy with regard to allegations of tampering ice lingam inside Amarnath Cave shrine took yet another turn on Sunday when Shakaracharaya Anantshri Swami Amaritanand Dev tirth levelled charges against Congress's alliance partners Peoples democratic party of sabotaging the yatra and accused it of playing in to the hands of the Pakistan by generating controversy over Hindu shrines located in Kashmir valley.
Addressing a press conference here today, Swami Amritanand said PDP is playing in to hands of few vested interest including Pakistan by sabotaging the annual Amarnath pilgrimage. Swami Amritanand also raised question marks over the appointment of retired High Court Judge Justice KK Gupta for probing allegations of tampering with ice lingam.
Replying to a question, he said, going by the reputation of retired justice KK Gupta, an eighty year old person not fit enough to visit Amarnath shrine, we put forward our demand to the state government, if at all they want to hold an inquiry in to the alleged charges of tampering they must appoint a sitting Supreme court judge. Swami Amritanand also appealed to the common masses to visit Amarnath cave shrine in large numbers.He said Chairman of the Shrine board and Governot Lt-Gen Retd SK Sinha should seek an apology to put an end to the raging controversy in the larger interest of the successful yatra.
