| SVO organizes paper reading contest | | | Early Times Reporter

As a part of general Vigilance awareness programme, the State Vigilance organization (SVO) organized a paper reading contest on the subject “Role of Society In Curbing Corruption” at Govt. Degree College, here today. Whereas Manohar Singh Sr. Superintendent of police of the District was the Chief Guest Zaheer Abass Hashmi, Principal of the College presided over the function. The key-note address was presented by Nisar Ahmed, Sr. Superintendent of Police (UD) Vigilance Organisation Jammu and the compering was done by Prof. Akhter Hussain.
Twelve students selected by the College authorities participated in the contest. Whereas, Ab. Wahid of B.Sc. Part-III, Shahbaz Ahmed of B.Sc. Part-II and Miss Veena Sharma of B.Sc Part-III secured the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd position respectively, Vikramjeet of B.Sc Part –I got the consolation prize. A participation certificate was given to each participant and those adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd were given cash prizes also.
Sr. Superintendent of Police Nisar of SVO in his key-note address requested the teachers, contestants and students present in the function to spread the message of State Vigilance Organisation in every nook and corner of the District and urge upon the common masses to come forward and join to fight against corruption. The Chief guest and presiding officer of the function in their speeches appreciated the initiative taken by the SVO to spread awareness among the masses and they impress upon the students to play their role in the campaign started by the organization to uproot the menace of corruption from the society. |
