A deputation of Janta Dal Secular (JDS) led by its state president Mastnath Jagi called on SDM, Bhaderwah P.K. Pole and discussed about shifting of sub-district Jail Bhaderwah.
He apprised the SDM, that the jail has a historical importance, as it was a fort, constructed of then Maharaja of Chamb of Himachal Pradesh, and added later on it was converted into sub-jail. He said, during freedom struggle leaders like, Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah, Keshoo Bandhu, Sardar Budh Singh etc, were kept under custody here jogi sadi, a piece of land he purchased for construction of new jail in the area, and not shift it completely, keeping security in view.
As per press release, SDM, Polo gave paitient hearing and assured the deputation that meter will be discussed with higher authorities. Among others who were part of deputation were Mehta Ram Rattan, Kotwal, Satish Kumar, Sashi Pal, Chuni Lal Kotwal, Hemraj etc. |
