Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 25 The Council for Promotion of Dogri Language, Culture and History has confirmed eight names for Dogra Ratna Award for the year 2007-08. Those receiving the awards on October, 27 included Professor B.D Mal Sharma, senior educationist, Mr.Tashi Radgies, Ladakh, Dr.Mohamood Rehman, I.A.S retired, Mian Bashir, Philanthropist, Major Gen. Goverdhan Singh. Three among the list of eight are receiving the award posthumously. They include Prof. Rameshwar, Dr. R.S. Modi and Ram Chander Khajuria. The coordinator of the council, Professor Bhim Singh today in a press conference said that so far twenty six dignitaries have been honored this prestigious award for excellence in their respective fields. On the occasion he further said that October, 27 has been chosen for conferring awards as on this very day Maharaja of state signed the instrument of accession of state with Indian union. The Governor, S.K Sinha, the chief guest on the occasion would present the awards. |
