| Natrang presents new production | | ‘Kabab Mein Haddi’ enthralls audience | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 28 Hindi play ‘Kabab Mein Haddi’ was the major attraction, at Natrang’s Sunday Theatre event, which was performed at Natrang Studios here. Written by Balwant Gargi this new play was directed by Neeraj Kant. On the opening of this new production Balwant Thakur the director said that Natrang as a mission to institutionalize the theatre movement of Jammu has been promoting new young directors and actors to experiment, explore and evolve new ways of theatre direction and acting. To accomplish this mission this new production with young actors is being launched and expressed hope that this experiment will also be highly successful. Natrang is the only theatre group of the country which is offering new play every Sunday in addition to routine theatre shows and programmes. The play ‘Kabab Mein Haddi’ is based on the story of a young couple who is in look for a lonely place to have intimate interaction. They have a friend who was instrumental in bringing them together. This hardcore supporter of their would never leave any occasion to render his services. While showering his overwhelming love and concern for them he fails to realize that their relationship requires some quality tome to be spent lonely. The playwright has woven a super comedy on this scheme which forces everyone to laugh. The play begins from a comic situation where the foolish goes out his ways and offers the couple his place to meet. But slowly his warm hospitality turns into extreme hostility. The highly hilarious play was beautifully enacted by the young performers. The young couple was played by Deepak Virdi and Sajra Qadir. They were successful in maintaining the rhythm of this fast paced performance. The cause of all happenings, the intruder in two love birds, was perfectly played by Mohit Sharma. He ably maintained the truthfulness of being foolish. The lights of the play were designed and executed by Gaurav Jamwal. The sets were executed by Rohit Verma. At the conclusion Natrang Director informed that the group is starting a series of the five performances of their play ‘Andhon Ka Hathi’ from Monday in all collages of Jammu under the project ‘Theatre for Collages’ supported by department of culture, government of India. |
