SSP holds Police Public Meet

Manohar Singh, SSP Doda held a police public meet at Assar in which about 150 prominent persons including Panch, Sarpanch, Nambardars and Chowkidars of the area participated. The participants put forth some grievances relating to police which were sorted out on spot. The people pointed out that some VDcs functioning in the area are not getting honorarium. Moreover, some villages like Shamtihi, Gagla, Top Neel, Chill and Chuchetar etc. have nearest police station Assar but they have been kept under the jurisdiction of police station Doda. As such these villages may be linked may be de-linked from Police station Doda and kept with Police station Assar. The participants were told by SSP Doda that the matter regarding honorarium to VDCs is already under consideration with the Govt. and the proposal regarding re-fixing the jurisdiction of Police Station has also been sent to higher authorities which is under consideration. The participants expressed satisfaction over the general working of Doda police in anti-militancy operations as well as the efforts made for eradicating social/ normal crime specifically quoting the special drives launched by Doda Police against traffic violation, narcotics hoarding and profiteering etc.
The participants put forth problems pertaining to civil departments like non availability of medical staff and equipment in PHC Assar, Dispensary Bulandupur, Ayurved Dispensary Thanda Pani and First Aid Centres Charota and Thanda Pani. The ambulance of PHC Assar which had met with an accident generally remains off road as a result they face lot of difficulties. Bashir Ahmed Salaria stated that about 300 students are undergoing studies in HSS Assar, but there is shortage of teaching staff. He requested that sufficient teaching staff may be posted at HSS Assar to meet the requirement of students. He further told that the quality of rations available at ration depots is sub-standard and the seeds being issued by the Agriculture department is also sub-standard Salaria also demanded for immediate construction of Circular road Assar for which funds have already been released. Farooq Ahmed resident of Trungal pointed out that Trungal and Marsoo bridges are under construction and requested that the work may be completed at the earliest so that people fo the area may not suffer. Om Parkash resident of Charota, Sarpanch pointed out that construction work of 10 kms road from Assar to Thanda Pani was to be started one year back. But in one year, tenders for only 01 km road have been issued. He requested that concerned authorities may gear up the work so that the road is completed at an earliest. He also pointed out that there is no electric facility in villages Patta, Charote, Saketar, Nagwal, Marhi, Kathote, Akela, Akhela, Daijan etc. and requested that electric facility may be provided to these villages.
The SSP Doda gave a patient hearing to the grievances of the public and assured them that their problems will be taken up with the concerned authorities for immediate redressal. The participants were advised to remain vigilant against the nefarious designs of ANEs and help the Police in dealing with terrorism and normal crime. The participants were requested for providing information to Police regarding movement of anti-national and criminal elements for which they will be suitably rewarded. The participants were told that they can come to police at any time for any matter relating to Police and their problems will be sorted out. Police appreciated the role of Doda Police and extended all possible help from their side. They thanked SSP Doda for holding such police public meets.
