Billowria Committee visits Bhamag

Three member committee headed by Chairman S. S. Billowria, constituted by the state government for making recommendations for setting up new administrative units viz Sub Divisions, Tehsils, Niabats and blocks visited “Bhamag” areas of districts Udhampur and Reasi from October 24th to 26, 2007.
The Committee held a series of meetings at Moungari, Khourgali, Dammote of Udhampur district and Sarhi, Baispat Dhar,Sujandhar, Bakkal of Reasi district and gave patient hearing to the people of the area.
At village Khourgali Damote and Baispat Dhar, the committee was apprised that being located at far off hilly and inaccessible area from these two districts, administration units, the people have to face lot of hardships and difficulties. They strongly demanded a separate Sub division, two tehsils, one each in the areas falling in two districts, two community development blocks, two Niabats at Nallah Anji Belt and Nagote Bhamag so as to implement and keep watch over the different developmental schemes and their progress.
Thanking the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for giving district status to Reasi and constituting Billowria Committee, the people urged to carve out two tehsils of Bhamag at 20 kms distance each supervised by one Sub Division as the Illaqa as per the set guidelines.
During the visit leaders of the area Krishan Lal, Tej Singh Nag, Malook Singh, Jai Parkash, Dharam Singh, Munshi Ram and local leader Pritam Thakur put forth the demands and aspirations of the people.
