| Tehsil commander among two HM militants killed | | | Early Times Reporter

A self-style Tehsil commander among two Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militants were gunned down early today in a fierce gun battle in Kishtwar town of the District when they were hiding under a shelter in a local house and also recovered some ammunition from the spot.
According to reports, a party of 11 Rashtriya Rifles today received specific information that some militants were hidden in the village Dairan of Chattroo tehsil in Kishtwar. A joint operation was launched by the troops and Kishtwar Police. Sources said, during the searches the militants who were hidden in a house opened fire on the searching party and came out side the house and entered into an encounter with the security forces. Two militants of Hizb outfit were gunned down. The killed militants have been identified as Mohmmad Ahshraf alais Gaznavi - Teshil commander and Zaffar Hussain alais Abid. Reports said the Gazvani was operating in Kishtwar belt since 2006 and Zaffar was operating in the area since 2005. Two AK rifles, one grenade launcher, 36 rounds, 2 grenades, 2 magazines, and one pouch were recovered from their possession. The search operation was on in the area. |
