| CRPF celebrates raising day | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Oct 29 On the eve of raising day of Central Reserve Police Force( CRPF), a five kilometers walk and run for girls was organized by 96Bn CRPF. The run was flagged off by IGP Kashmir, Shri Shiv Murari Sahai from Police Golf course and it commenced at Sher-I-Kashmir Cricket stadium, Srinagar. Around 400 girls from different schools participated in the event after which IGP Kashmir distributed the prizes amongst the winners and organizers of the event, at Sher-I-Kashmir stadium. In his welcome address, DIG CRPF, N. Bhardwaj stated the aims and objectives of CRPF. He said that CRPF has remained at the forefront in maintenance of Law and Order and curbing of insurgency, since its inception. He stated that there are at present 201 Battalions of CRPF, carrying out their duties throughout the country. DIG CRPF further said that the onerous efforts of IGP Kashmir Mr. S. M. Sahai are also responsible, to a greater extent, for change in situation and restoration of normal activities related to general and routine life in the valley. It is because of this environment that today we have organized this run with active participation of local government as well as public schools, he added. Complimenting all the participating schools, IGP Kashmir, S.M. Sahai announced a cash reward of Rs 1000 as refreshments for each participating schools. Besides, Mr. Sahai also gave on the spot cash rewards to three youngest children participating in the event. |
