Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 29 On spot inter school painting competiton "Portri of national leaders" was organized today at the venue the 'Azadi Express' arrived on October, 28. As part of celebrations of 150 years of First War of Independence and 60 years of Independence of the nation, the Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, today organized a special on the spot inter-school painting competition. This competition is a part of the arrival of the Mobile Train Exhibition "Azadi Express", which arrived here at Jammu Tawi Railway Station on 28th October. Near about 200 students drawn from different schools of Jammu participated and depicted portraits of popular National Leaders with their budding talents, with painting/drawing material on the occasion. Geranial Gowswami of Shining Star Academy, Muthi, Jammu, Shirisnti of Kendhariya Vidhalaya, Gandhi Nagar, No.01 and Monika of Government Middle School, Railway Colony, Jammu were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd in order of merit by a panel of Judges headed by Sh. S. K. Rao, Deputy Director General, directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity, Government of India, Incharge Azadi Express, Mobile Train Exhibition and O. P. Sharma, Special Officer from J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. A colourful cultural Programme was organized by Information Department and J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages was the other attraction of the day. |
