| Govt to take decision on stadiums after Nov 5 | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 29 After postponement of the high level meeting of October 24 at Srinagar, the state Sports Ministry will be deciding the fate of two stadiums in a meeting in Jammu after October 5. It will be in this meeting that the Government shall take a decision on whether to rent out two stadiums (MA Stadium Jammu and Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium Srinagar) to Indian Cricket League (ICL) or the BCCI. In fact the cash starved J&K State Sports Council is looking for option to raise funds for improving its sports infrastructure in the state by renting the stadias for cricket purposes. “The meeting scheduled for October 24 in Srinagar could not take place and now the same officers shall hold deliberations in Jammu, most probably, after October 5 to come out with a final decision,” told Minister for Sports, Babu Singh to Early Times Reporter. Meanwhile, the highly placed sources told SAN that the Government has a standing offer from ICL for these two cricket stadiums in the state and the Sports Ministry is in no mood to miss the golden opportunity. |
