Stop extension to retiree professors: JURSEA

The Jammu University Research scholars Executive Association (JURSEA) have viewed seriously granting of extension to retiring professors and other officers by the University authorities.
Discussing various issues the scholars said, granting extension to the services of retiree persons effect badly on the prospects of younger scholars. In a one voice scholars demanded this practices should be stopped once for all.
Beside, scholars also demanded that one more study centre, under name and title Swami Vivekanand study centre be opened in the campus.
During the meeting research scholars raised the issue of Research Scholar’s room in the different departments and the quality of eatables sold in the campus canteens should be good. They said that in some departments there is no scholar room and even if it is there the facilities which are necessary for the research scholars are not being provided to them. It was also said that the quality of eatables being sold in the campus canteens are degraded that it can be harmful for the student’s health. It was unanimously decided that a Quality checking cell for research scholar’s rooms and canteens be constituted which will visit the different departments and canteens every week to ensure the quality of eatables and the facilities provided to the scholars in the campus.
Members also discussed about the problems faced by the female research scholars in the campus which they are not able to tell to the male members of JURSEA. So it has been unanimously decided to constitute a Women Cell in JURSEA which can work on the problems of female research scholars in the campus.
JURSEA also discussed the matter of the University calendar which is not being implemented properly. So it was decided that the calendar of the University be followed properly so that the students not suffer for their admissions and other works in some other institutions. Beside other issues were discussed also.
