| Pak PM: Solution to Kashmir issue should reflect Kashmiris' wishes | | | Islamabad | Oct 31 Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said Tuesday the solution to Kashmir issue should reflect the wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He made the remarks when talking to Prime Minister of Pakistan-controlled Kashmir Sardar Attique Ahmad Khan, who called on him here at the Prime Minister's House. Aziz said that Pakistan had always supported the just cause of Kashmir and solution of this issue would lead to sustainable peace in South Asia. He added Pakistan had fully supported the relief and reconstruction activities in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir by providing financial resources as well as expertise. Aziz said thousands of new houses were being built in the affected areas and most of the affectees had moved into their new homes while others were in the process of completing their residences. He said the spirit which the people of Pakistan from Karachi to Khyber displayed during the earthquake catastrophe made all of us proud as Pakistanis. Sardar Attique expressed appreciation for the tremendous help and support by the people and government of Pakistan during the 2005 earthquake. Sardar Attique appreciated the substantial increase in budgetary and development allocations for the government of Pakistan-controlled Kashmir to develop their area and provide better facilities to the people. Aziz assured that this process of support to Pakistan-controlled Kashmir would continue and several projects in the pipeline would create job opportunities as well as economic growth in the area. Aziz said the government of Pakistan was committed to providing the people of Pakistan-controlled Kashmir all facilities so that their quality of life would improve and they could play their part in building a prosperous environment. |
