| Four crore being spent under Haryali scheme | | | Early Times Reporter Leh | Oct 31 An amount of Rs four crore is being spent under Haryali phase II, III and four in the district. This was said in a meeting of DRDA chaired by chief executive councilor (CEC) LAHDC Cheiring Dorje here today. Others who attended the meeting were executive councilor, agriculture Tsering Norboo Lampa, executive councilor, health Dorje Mutup, executive councilor, tourism Tsewang Rigzin, MLC P. Namgail, MLA Pintoo Norboo, women representative Mrs. Sarla Tsewang and heads of NGOs like LNP and Ecology. Project director, DRDA Ali Raza giving a detail of works said that 46 works have taken in hand under Haryali Phase II, 61 works under Haryali Phase III and 62 works under Haryali phase IV at a total cost of Rs.3.80 crore, through different PIAs. He said that Rs. 17.50 lacs in being spent under SGSY during the year 2007-08. The CEC stressed over the need to complete the works in the projected time and should be made in consultation with people at grass root level. The deputy commissioner Dr. M.K Bhandari urged upon the PIAs to formulate holistic projects as per strict guidelines of government of India and next installment is released by the GOI. The deputy commissioner instructed the PIAs to ensure photograph of projects for speedy monitoring under SGSY. He laid stress on self help group formation and financing. |
