| Science College wins by 115 runs in inter-college cricket | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 31 It was a virtual surrender by the Degree College Udhampur after latter suffered a 115 runs defeat in the hands of Government GGM Science College in the ongoing inter-college cricket tournament at University of Jammu grounds, here today. Batting first after winning the toss, Science College set a target of 249 runs losing all their wickets in 38.3 over of the 40 over match, which, in reply, Udhampur College could not chase and lost all their wickets for 133 runs in 30.5 overs. Sunil Sharma was top scorer with 56-ball 64 runs including a six and nine boundaries. Manjeet Kumar and Rohit Khajuria also batted well for Science College and contributed 50 and 22 runs respectively. From Udhampur College, Sushil Dogra clinched four wickets while Sehdev Singh and Anil Kumar shared two each. Later, chasing a target of over six runs per over, Udhampur College lost all their wickets in 30.5 overs for 133 runs. Ajay Sharma and Amit Sharma were the main scorers with 33 and 36 runs in their respective accounts. Parvez and Arvind added 18 and 12 runs respectively. Sahil was most successful bowler from Science College who took five wickets for 20 runs in six overs. Sumit took two while Manjit and Sourav shared a piece each. Sahil Malhotra, who clinched five wickets for the winners Science College was adjudged man of the match. The trophy was presented to Sahil by Administrator General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, Dr D L Choudhary. Next match: KC Law College to take on Government MAM College (Evening) tomorrow. |
