Three day Sanskrit seminar concludes KU

The three day national seminar organized by the department of Sanskrit Kashmir university in collaboration with Indian council of philosophical research ministry of human resource development concluded here at Kashmir university today.
Vice chancellor Kashmir university Prof Abdul Wahid Qureshi presided over the valedictory session of the seminar The session besides others was attended by head of the department Sanskrit Prof Satbaman Razdan .
In his address Vice Chancellor Kashmir University said that we love this language because it has played a distinct roel in our past there is lot of wisdom embedded in its rich literature He was highly appreciative of the University department of Sanskrit for holding a seminar on such a vital theme. He said on the occasion that Kashmir has remained a cradle for a very rich culture and civilization and it is our duty to safeguard the same . V C KU told the delegates that these seminars were also menat to have acadamic contacts with the rest of the world and the delegates should clear the misgiving about Kashmir to the people of other states so that they can come to Kashmir freely and exchange their ideas and thoughts with the scolars here /.
Professor of English Prof G R Malik presented his very though provoking paper on the theme Kashmirs Religious consciousness: lal Ded and Sheikul Alam in the 5th session of the seminar today which was chaired by Prof Navjeevan Rastoogi . Prof Navjeevan Rastoogi in his address said that self-introspection and self-realization lead to search for truth and it this urge for truth, which is vital for achieving higher goals in life that is spirituality. “We can know the ultimate reality by knowing ourselves and the purpose of our existence only “ he said . Professor of English Prof G R Malik also chaired the concluding paper reading session of the seminar . Prof M H Zafar director Kashmir studies and Prof Gulshan Mjid also spoke omn the occasion

Other scholars and professors who read their paeres today include Prof Anindera Kumar , Prof Kedar Nath Sharma Prof M H Zaffar , Prof Ramnika jalali , Prof D R Sharma Dr Meera Rastogi , Dr Kamal Kishore , Dr Wahid Nasru , Prof Avannindra Kumar Prof Ragvendra Ji Dobai , Dr Beena Agarwal Dr Sushma Devi Gipta , Musavir Ahmad and sunil Dutt
. There were prolonged deliberations upon the similarities and differences between schivism and Sufism the two schools of thought and practice and the points raised in the papers were thoroughly discussed by the participants delegates and there were some disagreements and heated arguments among the participants of the seminars.
Cultural club of the university presented a colorful cultural programme to the delegates in the evening which was directed and produced by Shahid Ali Khan cultural officer of the university of Kashmir.
