| Taxi association election held | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 31 The election of Special Tourist Taxi Association (TRC) was held here today in which Inderjeet Sharma with a huge margin was declared elected president of the association who got 90 pc votes of the total polled and his rival Sham Singh got only 10 pc votes. Sharma is winning election for the eighth consecutive term. While Raj Singh was elected as Vice President who managed to got 77 pc votes and his rival D.K.Shashtri got only 23 pc votes. Simultaneously the election for the post of general secretary was also held in which Bansi Lal defeated his nearest rival Pardeep Sharma. The latter got only 28 pc votes while the former managed 72 pc votes. The security deposit of the 3 candidates were forfeited who shared 10 pc each of the total votes polled respectively. The election was conducted under the supervision of Chief Election Chairman, Manjeet Sing, B.S.Jamwal and the presiding officer for this election was Arun Singh. |
