| DGP hosts farewell lunch for Lt. Gen. Saproo | | Lauds cooperation extended to JKP | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 31 Director General of Police Mr. Kuldeep Khoda hosted lunch for Corps Commander, 16 Corps, Lt. Gen. T. K. Saproo here today to celebrate the elevation of the latter as GOC Western Command. Speaking on the occasion, the Director General of Police lauded the services of Lt. Gen. Saproo rendered as Core Commander of 16 Corps, in combating militancy and extending full cooperation to the Jammu and Kashmir Police in this regard. This, he said, led to launching of successful joint operations against the militancy. The coordination and liaison ensured by Lt. Gen. Saproo is an exemplary one, he said. He appreciated the various developmental programmes and welfare measures launched by the Corps under his command under Sadbhavana Programme, benefiting a large number of people and also highlighted his role in launching rescue and relief measures for the people during natural calamities particularly in the border and far-flung areas of the state. Mr. Khoda also eulogized the Lt. Gen. Saproo for the concern he has for the human rights adding that he would respond in a pro-active manner when ever a minor complaint was reported in this behalf. The Director General of Police wishes all success to Lt. Gen. Saproo in his new assignment. Mr. Khoda presented a memento to Lt. Gen. Saproo on behalf of all ranks of the Jammu and Kashmir Police on the occasion. Among others, the function was attended by senior police, civil and military officers. |
