Two drug peddlers arrested with capsules and bhuki

Toda Kathua police launched campaign against illicit vendors in view of forth coming Diwali festival. The contingents of police post Nagri carried out raids in and around village Kangrial, Palli Morh and destroyed one illegal distillation unit in the village. Reports said during the raids about 2000 liters of lahan were seized and later got desteryod on spot and 30 liter of illicit liquor was seized alongwith number of matkas and other equipments used for manufacturing of illegal liquor. Two person namely Singo Ram son of Nand Lal and Suman Devi wife of Sham Lal resident of Nihal Pur were arrested. Police has also registered a case under Excise act and investigating the matter. Meanwhile in another incident police arrested a person and recovered about 18 kg of bhuki from his house. According to reports today police received specific information that one person in the area sale the bhuki illegally in his house, after received the information a police team led by Dy SP Hqrs Khalil Ahmed swung into action and raided in the house of one Ajeet Singh son of Charan Singh resident of Ward No 14, Kathua and recovered 18 kgs of bhuki from his possession. Police has also registered a case under NDPS act in this regard. Meanwhile in another incident Kathua police achieved another success and arrested a drug peddler aned recovered large quaninty of capsules from his possession. According to reports today Lakhanpur police received specific information that one person was smgulling the caspsules from Punjab, after received the information police party led by SHO Lakhanpur laid a naka in the area and during checking seized 2000 capsules from the possession of one Sewa Ram alias Surti Kumar son of Parkash Chand resident of Guguran tehsil Pathankote presently residing in Lakhanpur in the house of his in-laws. Police has also registered a case in this regard and investigating the matter.
