She is fighting for her life in hospital even as the police is forcing her to change the statement she had already given to the police in which she had reportedly stated that she was not kidnapped but had run away with her beloved willingly. Romi Devi of Maralia in Miran Sahib a couple of days back was brought to the Gandhi Nagar hospital after she attempted suicide following hostile attitude of the parents and relatives towards her wish to enter into a wedlock with her beloved Sonu a resident of adjoining Kalyana village. Even as the relationship between the two is a couple of year old, the two have been waiting for their respective parents to get agreed to their wedding. However, when they felt that there was no possibility of the parents to agree, they ran away from there houses some days back. Traced from Katra, both of them were brought back by the police to their parents. The police had made the case of kidnapping against Sonu but after the two were traced, the girl gave the statement that she had willingly gone with the boy. Following this, the brother-in-law of Sonu started harassing the girl forcing her to change the statement. Unable to bear the pressure, the girl attempted suicide and was admitted to Gandhi Nagar hospital. However, her ordeal did not end here, as, sources informed that, now in hospital, the police was building pressure on her to change the statement.
