| Natrang presents "Girgit" | | | Early Times Reporter JAMMU | Nov 2 Natrang presented Anton Chekhov’s play "Girgit" directed by Neeraj Kant at Govt. College for Women Gandhi Nagar. Minister of Higher and Technical Education Aizaz Khan was the chief guest on the occasion. Besides him, Principal of the Women College Gandhi Nagar, Veena Gupta and Balwant Thakur was also present on the occasion. The play revolves around a police officer, who changes colours like a chameleon. The action starts when a dog bites a pickpocket, who approaches the police officer to get his the handsome claim from the owner of the dog. The cops begin to search owner of the dog and a passers by hints that the dog might belong to the local Minister as he saw a similar dog at his place. Getting this clue, the police officer starts beating the pickpocket for teasing the dog. While the cop is beating the pickpocket a man from the crowd says that Minister cannot keep such a dog. here the dog is thrashed and search starts for owner of the dog. Beating of dog continues till a servant of the Minister appears on the scene and with reluctance identifies the dog as one of the guest of the Minister. The actors who portrayed main characters included Pawan Verma, Gaurav Triyal, Rahul Chanda, Deepak Virdhi, Dimple Sharma, Prashant Sagar, Mohit Sharma, Ruhi Singh, Sunil Palwal and Rohit Verma. Sanjeev Gupta designed the lights which were executed by Suraj Ganjoo. Music of the play was scored by renowned singer and music director Suraj Singh
