| Dhanwantri day on Nov 7 | | | Early Times reporter Jammu | Nov 2 Dhanwantri Day in memory of Dhanvantri- the father of Ayurveda is being celebrated on November, 7. The day marks remembrance of Dhanvantri for his contribution to the filed of Ayurveda and to aware the masses about the use of herbs and shrubs for treatment of various ailments. Talking to Early Times, Dr Karan who claims to be a volunteer worker of Indigenous System of Medicines (ISM), said that government is still in slumber as no preparations are going on to observe the important occasion. He said that five hundred doctors and two thousand employees are associated with the ISM department in the state and the annual expenditure is 25 crores but the non seriousness of the govt can be assessed by the fact that no money is kept reserved for the function in memory of Dhanvantri. “It is very important to educate the masses of state about Ayurveda as the Himalayas of the state are rich in herbs and shrubs which are very useful for treatment” he added. |
