| Science exhibition concludes | | | Early Times Reporter REASI | NOV 2 A 2-day District Level Science Exhibition, 23rd exhibition of the District Institute of Education and Training and first ever science exhibition at the newly created district Reasi concluded here today. Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mr Jugal Kishore Sharma was the chief guest while District development Commissioner, Reasi, Mr. Sanjeev Verma and Senior Superintendent of Police, Mr J.L Sharma were guests of honour. The Minister visited the exhibition and went through all the models put up by the students of district Reasi, Udhampur and Ramban based on various themes like forecasting of floods and cyclone, laser mass communication, emergency flood alarm, disaster management, preservation and conservation of soil etc which were highly appreciated by the chief guest and other dignitaries. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest congratulated the students and teachers for preparing science models and asked them to develop similar spirit among other students for their overall development in the field of science education. He said that public involvement is must in such fields for the preservation of forests, proper use of water resources, plantation of medicinal and other varieties for the maintenance of ecological balance, waste management and allied themes. DDC, Reasi, Principal DIET, Field Advisor and other dignitaries also spoke on the occasion and stressed upon the students to spread the message of such exhibitions based on different themes among the student community in particular and public in general. The students of various schools of the district presented scintillating cultural programmes on the occasion and prizes were also distributed among the participants on the occasion. |
