| Regional imbalance – poll plank for BJP, Panthers | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 3 While the BJP thinks of Concentrating on training 37,000 polling agents it has appointed for checking any attempt at booth capturing during the next election the Panthers Party has decided to set up village committees for strengthening the base of the organization in the rural areas. According to leader of the Panthers Party in the state legislature, Harsh Dev Singh,” we have already established party units up to the block level but now we have decided to set up village level committees for assisting the party leadership in making inroads in the stronghold of Congress and other parties.” He said “we do not believe in hollow slogans. We are happy that the peoples’ response to our agenda and ideas has been positive. In number of public rallies we could discern under currents of anger against the ruling coalition. This is going to help us.” However, the BJP leadership is of the opinion that the huge force of polling agents could mobilize peoples’ support for the BJP.”Both the BJP and the Panthers Party leaders have started raking up the issues connected with various failures of the coalition Government. Harsh Dev Singh says that the Azad led Government had made series of promises to the people, including end to corruption, improvement in work culture and accelerating the pace of development works but all these promises proved hollow. He explains that that when a Government is able to spend Rs.500 crores out of the outlay of Rs.5,000 crores for first nine months of the current year one can easily gauge the working style of the coalition Government. The BJP Chief, Ashok Khajuria calls the Azad led Government a rule of failures on all fronts. Both the Panthers Party and the BJP have decided to make failure of the coalition Government in ending regional imbalance the main poll issue. |
